Bio
At the age of 6, I was not amused.
Since then, I've learned not to take myself too seriously - but I take my ministry very seriously. Whether working with children or teens, young adults or the young-at-heart, my goal is to help people find God in loving relationships, art, nature, and even in the digital space. I'm Episcopalian but I pray nice with others. If you run into me, I'm equally likely to be reading, writing, playing on my phone, or making papier-mache. In addition to designing Vacation Bible School and other children's ministry programs, I've been a confirmation teacher, a Girl Scout and Boy Scout leader, and I'm definitely a camp person. Will. Camp. Anywhere. Anytime. Any weather. Finally, utilizing a live donkey is my fondest ministry goal. I can dream, right?
So here's where it gets interesting. After over a decade of having glitter and glue on my hands doing children's ministry at St. Paul's Episcopal church outside of Pittsburgh (where I was also in charge of communications), I've moved into a new gig in which all my seemingly divergent passions make sense. I've always been a bit too church for the tech folks, and a bit too tech for the church folks. Now, when I'm not writing, I'm actually helping churches and other faith organizations to tell their stories in the digital space as the Director of Digital Ministry for Membership Vision. I'm also designing collaborative art projects that often have a digital component. And it's totally cool. This, of course, explains why I have a fantastic website.
I am a native Pittsburgher - I left town just long enough to find a husband from outside the local gene pool. My husband Kevin is a gourmet cook and can roller skate really well - both excellent qualities in a spouse. We love being parents to Zack, who is a physicist and philosopher, and Stephanie, who is an amazing camp counselor and who is still awaiting her letter from Hogwarts.
