Jesus calms the storm

Best VBS experiential story-telling ever. We were sharing the story of Jesus calming the sea. So we had Jesus (one of my teen volunteers) curled up (as if sleeping) in a cardboard boat in the middle of a GIGANTIC parachute which was filled with blue balloons. All of the VBS campers were gathered around, holding the edges of the parachute. When it came to the part of the story where it was time for a storm, teenage helpers banged pots and pans like thunder, and all the little kids yelled and shook the parachute so the balloons churned like an ocean. Then Jesus stood up and said BE STILL. And waves, and balloons, and little children were all still. The balloons all slowly drifted back into place. The kids were all silent. It was awesome.
